JAIME POWELL
OWNER/LEAD STYLIST | BELLAMI CERTIFIED EXTENSIONIST

Hair Stylist, Business Owner and Educator. Specializes in Blondes, Brides, Balayage, Extensions, Curls and Percision Cutting because to her, attention to detail is held to the highest of standards. Her philosophy is that “Dry hair tells no lies, so we don’t hide bad cuts and colours with good styling”. She regularly continues to attend ongoing education to stay on top of the latest trends, and perfect her professional skills to provide each guest in her chair with an experience and outcome that exceeds their expectation. She Invests time outside from her days behind the chair to run the business and continue to maintain and invent the culture that is Create Space Hair Co. Her free time is spent creating editorial content for networking, competitions and publishing. When she takes a step back from work all together you can find her spending time with her husband and two sons soaking up every minute of the wonderful family life in the outdoors. With 12+ years experience working in the top salons in the Fraser Valley her main focus is imagining and creating looks that last you longer!
RENE KLASSEN

Meet Rene! She is one of our Lead Stylists, with over 15 years experience behind the chair. She enjoys working with dimensional brunettes and lived in hair colors. Upon joining the team in February 2022, she specializes in unique highlighting techniques, such as Balayage and “Babylights”. To add, a Bellami Pro Certified Extentionist offering three main methods; Weft, Tape-Ins & I-Tips. Event styling is a passion of hers and getting creative with texture and curl, creating custom sewn updo’s for your special occasions. If she’s not behind her chair she’s enjoying the outdoors with her husband and pup, or investing into continued advanced education to bring you the best experience and results behind the chair. Her main focus is to make you feel your most beautiful self while sustaining healthy hair goals.
ALLANA HERRLING
SALON MANAGER

Born and raised in Chilliwack, Allana has always had strong roots in her hometown and looks for opportunities to help others feel welcome. So when the position of salon manager became available just over a year ago, Allana jumped on it. Having worked in the beauty industry for years, the opportunity to share her knowledge of luxury products while optimizing day-to-day logistics, felt like an opporunity designed for her. When she’s not keeping us all organized here at Create Space Hair Co., you can find Allana hanging out with her family, planning her next trip, binge watching Friends and heading to Starbucks for her go-to order: a Strawberry-Lemonade Refresher. Camryn has been creating magic behind the chair for over two years and joined Create Space at the beginning of August 2023. She is the queen when it comes to lived-in styles, dimensional blonding and above all, all things hair health. “I adore every aspect of being a hairstylist, and I am all about creating those seamless blends for my blondes and brunettes! Creating beautiful and healthy hair that is distinctive to who you are,” she says. “I have been behind the chair for over two years now, and have recently moved from Saskatchewan, finding myself at Create Space in Chilliwack, BC. When I’m not in the salon, you may run into me on a hike, thrift shopping, or at the lake with my fam.
MELISSA BALZER

Melissa graduated from hair school at John Casablanca Institute in April of 2020. Her favorite hair services to provide are colour treatments, especially highlights! Her goal as a hairstylist is to create a safe space for guests to be heard. Every day, she looks forward to providing you with a comfortable and positive experience. When she doesn’t have hands in hair, you can find her in the kitchen exploring new recipes.

Behind the chair for three years, Abigail specializes in blonding services, lived-in colour, and custom transformations. She believes hair is more than just style—it’s an expression of who you are. A quote from her dance educator has stuck with her: “It’s an external expression of an internal reality.” This philosophy drives her passion for helping clients embrace their unique beauty. When she’s not in the salon, you’ll find Abigail sipping a cozy cuppa tea, snacking on mini-eggs, or uncovering hidden gems on spontaneous adventures. She loves getting lost on purpose and following wherever curiosity takes her. Her go-to coffee order? A vanilla latte or caramel macchiato. And if she’s watching TV, you can bet it’s something war-related or deeply tragic—especially if it’s based on a true story. What should you know before sitting in her chair? “If you ever watched The Princess Diaries, you remember the salon scene where she ‘becomes a princess’? My favourite part of working with my guests is giving them their Princess Diaries* moment of seeing their vision come to life. It absolutely fuels me, and the anticipation of us getting there? Kills me! I NEED to see it just as badly as you do! I am a total perfectionist… I honestly might be more picky than you.”

Behind the chair since 2014, Tamara was original drawn to the industry because of the unique salon atmosphere—fun, creative, good smells and the connection with people! Tamara artistry focuses on all things lived-in (from blondes to warm balayages) and updo styling for events. When she’s not behind the chair, you’ll find Tamara trying a dirty chai latte at a new cafe with friends, hanging out with her daughters or binge watching the newest season of reality TV while eating a whole watermelon in one sitting. What should you know before sitting in her chair? “I’ll probably ask you if you watch the Bachelorette and I’ll match your vibe. So, if you want to chat great! If you don’t that’s perfectly okay too.”

Courtney loves creating lived in colours and custom tailored looks that suit her guest needs and wants. She loves enhancing her guests beautiful features and making them feels as confident as they can! If Courtney could do one service all day long it would be extensions because there are so many different methods and end goals when using extensions, weather it be to add volume, length or just a pop of colour!

BRYNNA

Bryna’s love for hair began long before her career did. She was the kid tagging along to her mom’s salon appointments, braiding or curling anyone’s hair who would let her. By 16, she was already working in a salon, and by 2019, she was living her dream behind the chair. For Bryna, the highlights isn’t the colour but helping people see their own beauty and find their confidence. She specializes in lived-in looks that she describes as “your hair, but better.” She loves the therapeutic and rewarding process foiling (especially when a cute pattern is involved).
Outside of the salon, you’ll find Bryna sipping an iced matcha with oat milk and sugar-free vanilla during a good organizing session or rewatching Grey’s Anatomy for the hundredth time.
Her advice to clients is simple: treat your hair like your skin—gently, daily, and with love. Hydration is everything, and a nourishing hair oil on your mids to ends is your best friend. “I want you to know I’m here for YOU,” Bryna stresses. “For your confidence, your comfort, and your self-expression. This is your space to unwind, to chat, to be quiet, to laugh whatever you need that day. My job isn’t just to do your hair, it’s to make sure you feel seen, heard, and cared for. You deserve to walk out feeling like the best version of yourself and that’s exactly what I’m here for.”
ISABELLA GAIDOLA

Since 2021, being behind the chair has been Isabella’s creative outlet. She believes there’s nothing better than that post-blowout bounce and could gladly round brush all day long—always finishing with Kérastase Glaze Drops for four days of frizz-free confidence.
If you’re not getting a blowout with Isabella (first off, what are you doing?), make sure you follow her two tips for the perfect, healthy blowout at home: 1) always double shampoo your hair, and 2) use heat protection!
Under the direction of Jaime Marie, Isabella is perfecting her technique with a particular talent for layered haircuts and lived-in colours. When you choose Isabella’s chair, you’re choosing a judgment-free seat that will leave you feeling confident. As Isabella puts it, “it’s just good energy and good hair.”
Outside of the salon, you’ll find Isabella in line for her go-to—a hot latte with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top—or on her couch watching a classic rom-com.
DEANNE ZACHARIAS

Deanne started bookkeeping as a way to stay home with her kids while exercising the parts of her brain that once loved learning, but it soon developed into a unexpected passion She started her own business immediately after graduating, seeking to support young entrepreneurs with similar mindsets of following their dreams while putting family first. She loves all the tiny details and keeping things smooth an organized gives her nerdy thrills! Deanne is a mama to 4 – 3 she carries in her arms and 1 in her heart. Away from the spreadsheets, you can find her in the garden pretending to be a homesteader, or writing random sentences of poetry on scraps of paper around the house while drinking copious amounts of black coffee.

I was born in Gdansk, Poland and right from the beginning, my parents believed in “experiences” over “stuff’“. As a kid, I remember exploring the beaches of the Caribbean, sailing down the coast of south America, and climbing the lions in Trafalgar Square. Those are my childhood memories. and that love of exploration and adventure never went away. I’ve travelled to over 30 countries and that’s just the beginning. Photography isn’t my job, it’s my passion project. it’s really just my way of colliding things I desire… a creative outlet, a source of connection, a way to explore. So when I get you in front of my lens, it’ll be relaxed. forget about a rigid schedule. we will wander, we will take breaks, we will get to know each other and bust a gut laughing along the way. And trust me when I say this – I legit cannot wait.
