Each Create Space hairstylist has their own unique hair story and diverse background that they bring behind the chair—and that’s by design. The goal has always been to create a space where you can be matched up with a Chilliwack hairstylist (a hair partner) that just gets it.
We encourage you, our beautiful clients, to try out different chairs Goldilocks style until you find the one that is juussssssst right. We hope that it is evident from your very first visit to our Chilliwack salon, that our stylists are extremely supportive of each other and of you being matched with the right hair partner—even it means you’re sitting in a chair that isn’t theirs.

Jaime Marie, Owner
When did you first get behind the chair and why? I started doing hair in 2009, long before I even realized it would become my life’s work. What began as curiosity and creativity turned into a calling. I fell in love with the way hair can completely transform how someone feels about themselves. It’s always been about that connection. Not just the colour or the cut, but the confidence that walks out the door.
What do you specialize in? Dimensional, curated and lived in looks and transformative colour work. I’m obsessed with hyper-personalized colour, the kind that looks individually effortless, like it was meant to exist on that person. My focus is always on luxury blonding, modern dimension, and creating seamless blends that photograph beautifully and grow out softly.
What could you do all day long? Blonding and teaching. There’s something about breaking down the why behind a formula or placement that lights me up. I could spend hours in creative flow, formulating, creating, and mentoring stylists who are hungry to grow.
Must-have Kérastase product? The Nutritive 8H Magic Night Serum, because healthy hair literally happens while you sleep. It’s the overnight nourishment every hair needs, especially when paired with silk pillowcases and regular in salon treatments. It’s dream hair in a bottle.
Besides hair, what are you passionate about? Education, mentorship, and finding the balance between ambition and peace. I love helping the industry and stylists grow into their potential while staying grounded in who they and we are, both behind the chair and outside of it.
What’s your go-to coffee order? Caffeine. I don’t care what its dressed in.
You’re sitting on the couch watching: I’m not. I’ve got my headphones in, completely lost in an audiobook. It’s my version of unplugging while still keeping my mind either inspired, or lost in a world of fantasy.
What is your number one piece of hair advice? If I could give every client one piece of advice, it would be this: take care of your hair like it’s part of your confidence, because it is. When it’s healthy, everything about your colour and style just works better. I want your hair to feel easy, like it belongs to you again, not your hot tools, because at the end of it all, it truly is the foundation for everything we create together.
What do you want your clients to know before sitting down in your chair? Your appointment isn’t about making me feel good about my work… it’s about you. I want you to leave feeling like the most confident version of yourself. I’m not a mind reader, and everyone has unique preferences, so I always encourage open communication in the moment. It’s so much easier for me to make adjustments while you’re still in my chair than for you to leave wishing you’d said something. You can trust that I’ve got the technical skill; what I need from you is your honesty so we can create something you truly love.
Rene Klassen, Lead Stylist
How long have you been a stylist? I was in high school! Only 14 when I decided this was my dream, my passion, and exactly what I wanted to do. Little did I know the vast possibilities of this industry!
What do you specialize in? Brunettes and darker hair types, be it lived-in or on-scalp foils. Grey coverage and blending hold a close second, and extensions are still on the podium.
What could you do all day long? Sit outside on a beautiful day, be it on a pool deck or the beach. Oceanside or lakefront—I love being by the water.

Besides hair, what are you passionate about? Being the best mother and wife I can be.
What’s your go-to coffee order? Grande Iced Caramel Macchiato made with oat milk, with an extra shot in a venti cup topped with ice. Hazelnut instead of vanilla, please.

What is your number one piece of hair advice? Don’t over-wash your hair. It’s as bad as not using your thermal protectant every single time!
What do you want your clients to know before sitting down in your chair? I love to plan a clear outcome for your expectations and look forward to meeting new guests!
Allana Herrling, Salon Manager
When did you first get into the industry and why? I started in the beauty industry because I’ve always loved helping people feel confident and beautiful. Seeing the beautiful transformations and how happy it can truly make someone feel.
What could you do all day long? Chat with each and everyone all day! It makes my day go by quicker and I leave the salon happy!

What are you passionate about? Educating clients on take-home products while building a strong lasting relationship with each and everyone!

What do you want your clients to know before coming to the salon? I’m all about creating a relaxed, welcoming experience—no judgment, just good vibes. I’m super friendly and easy to talk to, but if you’re more of a “quiet” person, that’s cool too!
Lakeisha Hewitt, Junior Hairstylist
When did you first get behind the chair and why? I started in April 2023. I’m someone who loves creativity and needed to be in a creative space with like minds.
What do you specialize in? Extensions—I LOVE extensions!
What could you do all day long? I could do extensions all day. I love little meticulous tasks and how happy it makes the person in my chair.
Fave Kérastase product? The Nutritive 8H Night Serum—my curls LOVE it.
Besides hair, what are you passionate about? My family, family dinners, family holidays, creating a loving home for my nieces and nephews to visit and make memories.
What’s your go-to coffee order? I’m not much of a coffee drinker, but I’ve been loving the Honey Citrus Mint Tea at Starbucks, especially during the colder days.
You’re sitting on the couch watching: ANYTHING scary—ask the girls at work! Or New Girl, that’s always a staple.
What is your number one piece of hair advice? Get the cut! I know it can be scary, but it doesn’t have to be a lot. Keep that hair healthy to grow those inches.
What do you want your clients to know before sitting down in your chair? I am a safe space! No matter what, I will always be a safe space for my guest. I want us to have open communication and for you to feel comfortable expressing anything to me.
Melissa Balzer, Junior Stylist
How long have you been a stylist? Since 2018!
What do you specialize in? Blondes. I especially love lived-in blondes.
Why did you get into this industry? I have always loved hair from a young age and have always dreamt of becoming a hairstylist. I got into this industry because I love transforming peoples hair. Good hair builds confidence and I love that we as stylists can give people confidence.
Fave Kerastase product? I’ve loved the Chroma Absolu Serum Chroma Thermique. It’s an amazing heat protectant.
Besides hair, what are you passionate about? Hosting!! I love cooking for other people and I also love games! So hosting dinner and a game night is my jam!
What’s your go-to Starbucks/coffee order? Caramel macchiato, half caffeinated, half sweet with lactose free milk, I know I’m complicated.
Fave TV show(s)? SWAT, Friends, Big Bang Theory, New Girl.
What is your number one piece of hair advice? Invest in the right products!! We can work our magic in the salon but if your hair routine isn’t good at home and your products aren’t good, you won’t get the best long term results from your hair.
What do you want your clients to know before sitting down in your chair? I want clients to know that my chair is a safe space. Whether you want to chat or just sit and relax or even do work on your computer that is OKAY! Life is crazy, busy and draining, sometimes you just need silence, a safe space and room to feel okay to just relax!
Camryn Rattray, Senior Hairstylist
When did you first get behind the chair and why? I started behind the chair in 2020! I had no idea I wanted to be a hairstylist—my OG plans were to travel for six months, but COVID hit and I figured I’d try something new.
What do you specialize in? Effortless, dimensional colouring techniques. I am not just a colourist! Every hair colour deserves to be finished with a flawless haircut, and I’ve fallen in love with creating custom cuts for every guest—curly, straight, short, long.
What could you do all day long? I genuinely think I could walk all day long. I love to walk—I could walk and talk for hours, or just by myself and look at stuff.
Must-have Kérastase product? Chronologiste L’Huile de Parfum—it’s so freaking sexy.
Besides hair, what are you passionate about? Encouraging our next generation. I volunteer with youth and am so passionate about them feeling seen, that someone believes in their dreams, and sees them for who they are.

What do you want your clients to know before sitting down in your chair? Honesty is a non-negotiable in my chair. I’ll tell you what’s possible, what elevates your natural beauty, and what your hair can safely take on. I want our conversations to be open and collaborative. This is a space where you’re heard, not judged.
Abigail Robinson, Junior Stylist
When did you first get behind the chair and why? I first got behind the chair in 2021. After working in the salon environment and helping stylists, I discovered my love to be around people and watch the transformations happen and thought, “I wanna do this!”
What do you specialize in? Blonding—lived-in balayage, bold high-impact foils. I love it all!

When did you first get behind the chair and why? I started behind the chair in 2016. I was working at Spa Utopia answering phones and kept gravitating toward the salon’s upbeat, creative environment.
What do you specialize in? Lived-in, effortless colour.
What could you do all day long? Sit in the sunshine with my best friend.

When did you first get behind the chair and why? I got behind the chair in 2018, but it all started in my bedroom at 12 years old—a bestie and a pair of scissors. I’ve always loved creating art through hair and making people feel beautiful.
What do you specialize in? Extensions, lived-in colors, vivid colors.
What could you do all day long? Rainy day: lay in bed with the fireplace on watching movies.
Sunny day: swim and tan at the beach.

Bryna Cinnamon, Junior Hairstylist
When did you first get behind the chair and why? I started working in a salon when I was 16, and by 2019 I was finally living my dream behind the chair. My love for hair started young. I was the kid tagging along to my mom’s hair appointments and offering to braid or curl anyone’s hair who’d let me. But what I really fell in love with was the way doing hair can make someone feel. Helping people see their own beauty and confidence is the most rewarding part of what I do. I never had to wonder what I wanted to be when I grew up… I just knew.
What do you specialize in? I specialize in all things lived-in. Enhancing or transforming your hair into what I like to call “your hair, but better.” Effortless, natural, and uniquely you.
What could you do all day long? I could foil hair all day! There’s something so therapeutic and rewarding about the process. I love the precision, the creativity, and the instant transformation it brings.
